A 29-year-old man from Ireland was killed in a four car accident in Washington D.C. early Saturday morning. The victim worked at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel.

The collision remains under investigation, but D.C. police spokesman Sgt. Joe Gentile said at this time speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors.

Police closed Wisconsin Avenue for a time in both directions near Woodley Road to allow the department’s major crash unit to complete their investigation.

The 42-year-old driver of the vehicle that caused the accident has been charged with second-degree murder.
